Bags packed / Ready to go

Today I depart from JFK in the afternoon. I will be meeting up with a group flight for study abroad students at LAX for the long haul to New Zealand.

My bags are packed and I'm ready to go, so to speak. I've packed what the abroad folks suggested: a large pack (mine's not actually that large), a large bag to check, and a small carry-on. I've attached the sleeping bag required for orientation on the outside of the pack and am hoping they'll allow me to check the bag like that.

I was thinking of posting a typed list of what I packed but having decided that would be tedious and uninteresting to most, here is an image of my packing list. You may be able to tell that some things are not yet crossed off. I haven't packed my mouse, or my camera yet as I'd find the task of creating this post more difficult without them.

I packed the usual clothes, toiletries, and laptop, as well as a few "extra" things like juggling balls, a frisbee, a footbag, and a really sweet headlamp.

And here, is a very tasty sandwich. Katie and I were having "eggy-in-a-basket" the morning before we left for our family Colorado trip and came up with the idea for this thing. We fried it up yesterday. Yes, we've submitted it to http://thisiswhyyourefat.com/ .

Sandwich contains: two fried eggy-in-a-basket (cut a hole in a slice of bread and fry an egg in it) spread thick with mayo, four pieces of american cheese, four strips of bacon. Served with a maple syrup dipping sauce. We fried the bread cut-outs from the eggies in all of the bacon grease and served them as "bacon-fried toastini".

Pro-tip: "bacon-fried toastini" = not worth the stomach ache.

Next post should be from New Zealand!
